Welcome
to Khao Lak Hotels Network. We offer a
wide range of hotels and resorts, as well as valuable
information located in our travel guide, for this newly
developed tourist destination next to Phuket Island,
including tours, shopping, transportation, dining and
nightlife.
Khao Lak, Thailand, is part of Phang Nga Province, and
features rich natural resources and beautiful and unspoilt
scenery. This destination is very well suited for those
visitors who would like to escape the crowds of other
places and appreciate a little more seclusion.
Khao
Lak is located 80 kilometres from Phuket International
Airport, following the route north across the Sarasin
Bridge into Phang-Nga province along Highway 4. The
journey will take about 1 and a half to 2 hours and
the roads to Khao Lak are very good. There are many
beautiful sandy beaches to be found here which are situated
amongst the surrounding national parks, abundant wildlife
and lush mountains and vegetation.
Khao Lak is in a remote area and because of this the
beaches are quieter, the pace is slower, and you will
find it very easy to relax. There is a wide range of
accommodation and restaurants to cater for every taste.
On your doopstep you will find an interesting array
of different activites and attractions including waterfalls,
elephant treking and canoe rafting. There are also dive
shops which offer trips to the nearby Similan Islands
and Surin Island.
Khao Lak is the simply the perfect place to unwind
and relax in perfect natural beauty.
Climate
Like its neighbouring province Phuket on the coastline
of the Andaman Sea, Phang Nga is dominated by the same
tropical monsoon pattern. Generally, the temperature
is warm all year round. The hottest time is during the
month of April when the temperature can reach 36C. The
monsoon season brings heavy downpours which commence
in May and last until October. The wettest month is
September. However the downpours are usually shortlived
with long periods of sunshine. November to April is
the best time to visit Phang Nga with slightly cooler
temperatures, lower humidity, and clear blue skies.
